Now at 5, my almost-kindergartener has amazing relationships, reads very well, and has loads of incredible memories of a lifetime-to-date at Little Ivies. ![]() Given the small class sizes, the teachers have been able to go well beyond the traditional daycare or preschool curriculum, while still incorporating loads of music, movement, arts, and play throughout the day. As the children get a little older, they continue to have warm, loving caregivers, and also start learning more formally. They do fantastic activities, have the cutest little gym (it may look small, but the 0-2yos who use it universally adore it!), go for neighborhood walks, and spend time in the facility's charming private backyard (so perfect with Covid). The care for the younger children is incredible - the babies are so loved by the director and entire staff, not only their main teacher. ![]() The space is so charming and absolutely perfect for children 0-5, and is kept immaculately clean. We've loved the facility, the people, the program, and the owner/director. We have had an amazing experience at Little Ivies. As my son heads off to kindergarten this fall and we tearfully say goodbye to Little Ivies, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on our years there and share a review. Please make sure you register with the appropriate district.My children have attended Little Ivies since they were each around 3 months old. Both districts offer half day options 9-11:30am or 12:15-2:45pm or full day options 9-2:45pm.1 teacher and an assistant to 18 children.Child must be 4 years old by December 1st and potty trained.This registration does not guarantee placement but puts your child into the UPK lottery. Registration is conducted through each district. Though the curriculum is our own, we work closely with the districts to provide the basics required for kindergarten and a strong educational foundation. Our teachers, along with resources from the school districts, encourage your child’s learning by helping them develop a sense of self-worth, independence and a sense of accomplishment. Our New York State certified teacher, along with her assistant will help to acclimate your child to their upcoming kindergarten classroom environment.Ī primary goal of this program is to provide students with instruction in early literacy, basic math and simple science, as well as swimming lessons and gym time. This is a kindergarten readiness program. The YMCA OF MIDDLETOWN has contracted with the Enlarged City School District of Middletown and the Minisink Valley Central School District to offer a free Universal Pre-K (UPK) program to families that reside in within those districts.
